Living kidney donor evaluation for all candidates with normal estimated GFR for age

چکیده

Background Multiple-days-assessments is frequent for the evaluation of candidates to living kidney donation, combined with an early GFR estimation (eGFR). Living donation questionable when eGFR Methods We compared evolution after between three groups pre-donation eGFR: normal age (Sage ) higher than 90 or 80 mL/min/1.73m2 (S90 and S80 respectively); across ( 55 years) in a population 1825 French donors median follow-up 5.9 years. Results In younger 45, post-donation eGFR, absolute- relative-eGFR variation were not different groups. For older was S90 Sage but other comparators identical. Post-donation slope comparable all Conclusions Our results are favor in-depth screening age.

Justification for living donor kidney transplantation

From the perspective of a potential kidney transplant recipient: • Kidney transplantation using either live or deceased donors is worthwhile for an individual with renal failure if it significantly improves their quality of life and/or long term survival. • The potential benefit of live donor transplantation needs to be weighed up against the likely outcome with the alternative options. For the...
